Ambika is the Project Coordinator for SFG's Water Security Initiative for
the Middle East, and was the principal researcher for "The Blue Peace". In
this regard she is involved in participatory research, developing
comprehensive analysis on water security, and communication with relevant
stakeholders in the region. She is also working on a project which
identifies emerging socio-economic and environmental trends in the MENA
region. She is a team member of the project 'Application of Blue Peace
Approach to the Nile Basin'. Prior to this she was involved in research for
the 'Cost of Conflict in the Middle East' report.
She is a member of the Munich Young Leaders Network, and was invited to
attend the Munich Security Conference, 2011.
In June 2010, she was invited to be a panelist on the water themed
introduction session, at the 'Rework the World' Summit hosted by the
Tallberg Foundation and YES Inc.
Ambika has been interviewed and published in newspapers and blogs across
Europe and the Middle East including Europäische Sicherheit, Tages Anzeiger,
Atlantic Community, Turkish Weekly, Today's Zaman, Daily News Egypt, World
Security Network, Stockholm International Affairs Quarterly, Green Prophet,
and Policy Net. In 2008, she had the opportunity to present a paper
entitled "Exercising Effective Leadership at the Grassroots: Creating a Just
Society" at the Women as Global Leaders Conference held in Dubai, UAE.
Ambika has a MA in Political Science with a concentration in Conflict
Studies from the American University Cairo in Egypt. She has also spent six
months studying at Bogazici University in Istanbul, Turkey.
