Gitanjali is currently working on a project which identifies emerging socio-economic and environmental trends in the Middle East. Her role includes preparing and writing research reports. She is also part of the Water Security Initiative for the Middle East and is responsible for assessing the current and future water situation in this region, with a specific focus on Israel, Palestine and Jordan. She was the principle researcher for SFG’s ‘Cost of Conflict in the Middle East’ report and organized the Zurich Workshop in Switzerland for the same. Gitanjali worked on the ‘Conference on Responsibility to the Future – Business, Peace and Sustainability’ where she was responsible for managing over 250 delegates from over 25 countries, including 50 speakers. She was also involved in SFGs ‘Emerging Issues’ report 2008, where she was awarded best performance in an internal research competition.
Gitanjali has completed her under graduate degree at Denison University, a liberal arts college in Granville, Ohio, USA, where she majored in comparative religion. While at Denison she completed research courses in the theory of international politics, Gandhian politics and the rise and fall of Nazi Germany.
She has authored several articles on strategic, political and security issues in the Middle East, and has a particular area of interest in the Israel-Palestine conflict.
