Rethinking India’s Future: Prosperity of the Periphery

Rethinking India’s Future: Prosperity of the Periphery gave economists and pink-paper columnists a fresh classification to describe India’s regional disparities. Months after its publication, the 3B’s coined by the report; the “business, bike and bullock-cart” economies of India became the buzzwords for a vibrant discourse on the Indian economy. The classification is based on consumption patterns and development indicators. Three scenarios were also put forward: Breakdown, Break-up and Breakthrough. What will be the appropriate strategies to make the best scenario possible? Will India manage to place herself in a virtuous cycle of prosperity and peace? What does the future hold? The only way to find out is to read Rethinking India’s Future.
