Middle East Water Security Initiative, 2010 |
Strategic Foresight Group's recent report on the 'Cost of Conflict in the Middle
East' was discussed in several parliaments and was covered in 300 newspapers and
websites around the world. Since then SFG has decided to continue research that will
prevent the potential for future costs in the region and will work towards
substantive and collaborative regional solutions for peace. As a result SFG is
currently conducting a study on water security in the Middle East. Water is one of
the most important issues in the region and has the potential for both peace and
conflict. The study is formally supported by the governments of Sweden and
Switzerland and several other governments have offered their support informally.
